Courses

All of our courses are available to external organisations as well as individuals. We also hire our rooms for other organisations to hold their own training courses.

Introduction to British Sign Language
This is a 6-week course introducing students to the basics of BSL. Each session is two hours long. The course can be tailored to meet the needs of both individuals and groups.

Deaf Awareness (1-day course or 2-day course)
There are two courses available. The 2-day course includes an examination leading to a nationally recognised qualification. These courses are aimed at people working with members of the public on a daily basis.

Better Communication (1-day course)
This course is designed for those who spend a lot of time speaking to groups of people, but is also helpful for those who have regular contact with members of the public.

Introduction to Computers and the Internet
For those who are nervous of modern technology.

Other courses available
These include:

Please ensure that when you attend courses of any kind that you check that both the ORGANISATION and TUTOR are suitably qualified to provide and teach the course on offer. If necessary ask to see their credentials and registration. If the course comes with a qualification also ask about pass rates. ALL colleges and tutors are more than happy to provide this information when requested.
